I was going through old film files and came across this image, taken I believe by my friend and assistant, Rick Millis. It was around 1997, the “dog days” of August, and I seem to remember that the heat index was going to be around 110°. I called the bride in the morning to see if she wanted to reschedule and her response was, “No way. I’ve made my hair and makeup appointment, taken the day off, and I don’t care how how it is, we’re doing this portrait.”
And we did. She was a trooper and a delight to work with.
(That holster looking thing is my might meter – we were shooting film and getting the exposure right in camera wasn’t a choice, it was a necessity.)
